Check in begins at 7:45am with the event kicking off at 8am that includes a light breakfast followed by interactive breakout sessions and discussions with experts facilitated by Carla Messer, Chief Results Officer and owner of BestWork LLC.

Joshua A. Smith, President & Chief Executive Officer of the Butler County Finance Authority and previously the City Manager of Hamilton. Joshua collaborates with his Board of Directors, municipalities, financial institutions, non-profits, universities/technical schools, developers, business leaders, and other agencies to assist communities in becoming more resilient through development and redevelopment, business retention, and attracting targeted industries. He’s recognized in his previous role during the post-industrial revitalization of Hamilton by attracting new businesses and spearheading major capital investments and development projects.
Dr. Quinton E. Moss Sr, MD is a board-certified psychiatrist, owner/CEO/Medical Director of Modern Psychiatry and Wellness LLC, Christian minister, and motivational speaker. Dr. Moss’s expertise involves mental health and wellness, addiction recovery, spirituality, and leadership. He sits on several community boards, has received the National Alliance for Mental Illness Lifetime Achievement Award, and was named a Top Doctor in 2014, 2015, and in upcoming 2025 by Cincinnati Magazine.
Veronica Tollefson, Manager of Program Operations at Pro Bono Partnership of Ohio, uses her passion for community service and nonprofit work to strengthen PBPO’s outreach and operations. Pro Bono Partnership of Ohio, a nonprofit itself, provides free business and transactional legal services to nonprofit social service organizations serving the disadvantaged or enhancing the quality of life in our community. She actively seeks opportunities to connect and collaborate with nonprofits and coordinates events and educational programming.
The day will wrap up at noon with key takeaways for your nonprofit and closing remarks from Butler County United Way President and CEO, Pam Cottle.
Sheila, a 44-year-old single mother of four, is no stranger to navigating adversity. Ten years ago, after going into labor early with her twin boys, she had to learn to navigate things a little differently than before. After giving birth to her sons, Sheila was rushed into brain surgery due to fluid on her brain pushing on her optic nerve.
About 7 years ago, Tonya made the brave decision to leave a domestic violence situation for the sake of her and her daughter. Leaving the situation was a courageous choice, but Tonya went a step further and left her home and community for her and her daughter’s safety.
Sherry was at the end of her rope after years of trying to combat the problem behavior of her school aged son. Her therapist recommended trying a parenting course offered through Butler County United Way’s Parent Project....
E.J. first entered the foster care system 5 years ago at 10 years old, and the uncertainty of his circumstances weighed heavily on him. Not having a stable support system and family in his life during such a formative time left him feeling vulnerable and scared.
